This gasket is used when replacing the impeller for Sherwood water pumps on Universal engines. If you are ordering impeller number 287439, it comes as a kit and you will be getting a replacement impeller as part of your kit.

You may still want to order one of these gaskets as a spare. The gaskets are somewhat fragile and can be damaged at installation. Ordering a spare now will help keep your replacement progressing should there be some damage to the gasket.

This gasket is used on the following Universal engines: M12, M2-12, M-15, 5411, M-18, M-20, 5416, M-25, 5421, M-40, 5432, M-50, 5444. Please note that some of these engines used the Oberdorfer pump and not the Sherwood pump. If your engine has and Oberdorfer pump you will want to use Universal part number 295628 and Universal / Oberdorfer gasket number 295626.
